Online - is it for me?
Online study can be quite rewarding, but it is not for everyone! In order to help you determine how you best learn, the Center for Distance Learning offers a short self-assessment survey for students considering online graduate study. It will help you understand your learning style, communication style, self-motivation and computer skills – all of which will help you determine the best plan for your studies.
What do I need?
- Motivation, self discipline and the ability to engage with others in thoughtful, challenging, Christian dialogue.
- A schedule that permits 8-12 hours per week of reading, studying, and writing.
- Willingness to engage in an extensive amount of reading and writing.
- The ability to obtain textbooks and other resources.
- Regular access to a reliable computer with word processor and Java-enabled web browser, one that can easily and reliably access the Internet. See the FAQ (link to p. 6) for a detailed list of basic technology recommendations.
- Basic skills in typing, emailing, and creating/attaching electronic files.
