Open for Business - Family Center Dedication

“Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” Psalm 127:1

It was early February in Ambridge and a miracle took place. The cold gray that usually blankets this region was transformed into a sunny, spring-like day. And it brought a great turnout for the dedication of Trinity’s Family Focus Resource Center.

Master of Ceremony, Dean and President Paul Zahl, greeted the gathering of more than 200 individuals in the Commons Hall. Bishop Duncan’s service of dedication was preceded by comments from Trinity Board Chairman, Hugo Blankingship. Tracey Russell, Junior MDiv, read Scripture and Middler MDiv, Mike Lonto, spoke on behalf of Trinity’s students and their families. “My hope and my prayer,” said Mike, “is that it becomes a resource center for seminarians to focus on their families.”

Bishops John Rodgers and Robert Duncan led the procession to the Family Center’s front gate for prayer and blessing. A group of individuals representing various groups within Christ’s body at Trinity participated in cutting the ribbon. The Center was officially “baptized” with punch and cake at the reception.

Please join Trinity in prayerful thanksgiving for the generous response of the 40 donors who supported the Family Center — in all they contributed $280,000! An additional $30,000 will help with the final furnishing and landscaping of the Center. Please contact Leslie Deily at 1-800-874-8754 if you feel led to make a gift to the Center.
